EARLY LEVIN DRIVERS
There is not alot written or known about the early Race drivers off the 50's & 60's so I decided to do my own research into some of the drivers who participated in early Levin especially.
The first one that caught my attention was a Peter Ward who raced a JBS-Norton at Levin and Wigram particularly. My research shows he raced a car imported by local garage proprietor Ron Frost who had migrated to NZ and lived in Levin and was instrumental in the oriins of Levin (more on Ron later). What I have learned on Peter John Ward was he raced the JBS at the above mentioned tracks. Unfortunately he died in a road accident aged 28 years. He was born in Methven South Island and was married at time. Other drivers were Arnold Stafford
